I have a mission this Winter and it is to collect fairies and accessories for a miniature FAIRY GARDEN. I wanted to do it last gardening season, but never got around to looking for items to useCry...for me, Winter is a great time to THRIFT SHOP.Cool Maybe I will get lucky and find some treasures.  I would REALLY REALLY love it if you are into FAIRY GARDENS, post some pictures and give up some helpful hints. I can't be the only one who wants to do thisConfused. Does this sound fun to you?

Two of my Granddaughters will absolutely love this FANTASY JOURNEY I am about to introduce them too. This is a whole NEW WORLD of reading, gardening and playingCool.  You will all hear from me later.Wink

Lucky for you your Granddaughters are old enough, mine is only 11 months...maybe next year she can help me garden.  I have a 9 year old niece that would love to help, but she doesn't get over very often, although she does come over more now that I got my chickens, she loves them!  I finally started getting eggs about 1 1/2 weeks ago.  I get about 2-3 eggs/day, but 2 of my 5 girls aren't laying yet.

When my kids were young, my parents had some REALLY PRETTY chickens and they loved feeding them and collecting eggs…lucky you. Time will fly by so fast and your Granddaughter will be calling out, "Grammy lets look for the FLOWER FAIRIES" and you will ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.  I have 5 Granddaughters, 10, 8, 7, 3 and the littlest one is only a year. Then there is Zachery , our only Grandson. They all LOVE the garden and yard. I will make sure that I get some BOY FAIRIES.

In the last couple of days I found 5 fairies. Two of them are similar to Cicely Barkers. Two are more folklore like. I will be saving my pennies to buy Cicely Barkers Flower Fairies. I also bought items like, wheelbarrows, mailbox, birdhouses, flower decor…I try to get it 'to scale' of the fairies.

Tomorrow Dave and I are going to Barnes & Noble…Cicely Barkers Pop Up Books are on my list. She also has some sticker books. All of these were rated very high and had excellent comments. Have any of you seen them? One of our members here, Faeryhollow, has an awesome fairy garden and has the Cicely Barker Fairies. I hope she posts some pictures for all to see.Smile

Hi Lark! I found some very cute fairy garden items at one of our local home improvement stores, to be made into terarriums. Of course it is on my Christmas list! So cute! They had an adorable arbor, little bike, little house. It will be hard to choose just what I want in mine!

Hi Heather,  So funny you posted in Fairy Gardens, as I am on ebay right now searching 'Cicely Barker Flower Fairies'. They are sooooooooo pretty, but expensive. Especially if you are putting them outside. Show us your creation when you are finished.

I've never heard of fairy gardens but, of course, now I want one!

Lark, let's pick a date for lunch and perhaps we can do a little thrift store shopping?  Can you do Friday, Feb. 17th?
