I have 2 plants in my garden that I can't identify. The first I thought was a type of lambs ear.  My mother got it for me last year for free from a landscaper when she bought a few other plants.  It never grew and was only about 3 inches tall and about 5 inches around all summer.  It has grown quite a bit this spring as you will see in these photos and even has some pretty flowers.  Anyone know what it is called?

Here is the other plant I bought several weeks ago.  The lady I got it from told me what it was and I thought, I'll never forget that name, but guess what . . . I forgot.  I'm pretty sure it gets blue flowers on it .

Help me identify these please!

Hi GardenLiv,  The first plant looks like a Lycnis 'Rose Campion'.  Let this one reseed. I think it is a bi-annual. VERY drought tolerant. Well drained soil, it will even grow in gravel.

I can guess the second plant might be a phlox. I can't tell without the flower and the mature size.

You'll love the Rose Campion.

Thanks Lark.  I already love the Rose Campion.  The growth and flowers were a surprise.  I love the color and texture (fussy) leaves and the flowers are so pretty.

The lady I bought the second plant from showed me a picture with dark blue flowers (I think with a white center) in a daisy type shape.  I have read the name a hundred times on-line and in books.  Don't think it was phlox.  It is driving me crazy not knowing the name.  Not that it makes that much of a difference, I guess I just want to know the name.  I'll post a picture once it blooms.

Have lots of gardening planned for tomorrow and the ibuprofen lined up for when I get inside. Last week just about killed me, but I loved the results  of all my hard work : )
