Scuppernong Creek flows  through my backyard.  It is a clear water creek with a sand bottom in most areas. Some areas are mucky & yucky near the edges because it overflows.  On the high side of our property Dave made a beach and we love it.  It does have seaweed, so on a VERY HOT DAY I pull it and use it as mulch in the hosta area.  Today we had alot of wildlife. A pair of sandhill cranes, fox, wood ducks and a mink. Soooooooooooo kool! But it is still COLD here.

How cool ~ you must have a spring fed creek.  Ours is just a run-off creek and has no water in it in the dry months.  But it is pretty as it meanders in and out of the woods and I like the sound of it when it is running.

It's still cold here too.  Only will reach into the 50's until the end of the week ~ then 60's and MAYBE 70's if we're lucky.  I was in Lexington over the weekend and it snowed!!  Ack.  No snow here back at home-sweet-home, but it was so cold while I was gone that the asparagus stayed hidden.  Nothing to cut when I got home.

Here is our swimming area. Last week I pulled the seaweed and put it on my hosta area. The hostas love it and now we don't have seaweed around our feet when we are swimming. With all this HOT HOT HOT weather the creek water is really warm. It is so peacefull down here.Image Enlarger
