What do you do if it keeps telling you your picture file is too large? Is there a way to make my photo smaller?

A couple things you can do.  Reduce you 'image' size on your camera.  Reduce your 'image' size on your phone.  Most cameras are set way too high of image size.  They are set for like making professional or poster like quality.  I set my camera on 'small image' and I think my pictures are quite clear.

Withgrace I struggled to reduce the size of my picture files also but I succeeded a couple days ago and made myself notes so I could duplicate it in the future.  I'll explain the process that works for me. I work from a photo saved in a file on my computer.  First I copy the photo so I can keep the original. Second I right click on the copied photo and choose "Open with."  On my computer I can choose Microsoft Office Picture Manager.  When that opens I choose "edit pictures."  On the next drop down menu I choose "resize" under Change Picture Size.  I manually enter 750 pixels X 563 pixels in the custom size boxes.  Then click "OK" and finally save the changes.  The file should now be less than 210000.  I hope this will be a help.

Lark, I noticed the picture magnifier right away.  It's a very nice addition.
