Lark – I have admired your gardens on-line for about a year.  Hopefully your green thumb will wear off on me a little bit through this forum . . . lol  Looking forward to the Spring.  We had such a hot summer last year that I am a little afriad that if the temps are that extreme again my garden will not be as successful as I am envisioning.  I am in SC, but originally from MD.  I am surprised at the lack of flower gardens here.  I believe it is tough to battle the SC summer heat, but I am ready to give it a try.  By the way, I am planting perennials and some new raised vegetable beds I built this fall with the lasagna method – plus a few annuals thrown in, I'm sure.  Wish me luck!!!

Hi Garden Liv, I am happy you stopped by and posted.  I sooooooooooo want gardeners to come and chat. You are zone 7...to me that is the perfect zone. But you say it gets really hot? The older I get, the less I like the REALLY HOT days. So you are going to try lasagna gardening. There is a gardening friend that calls herself Silvester. She is really experienced in that method of gardening.  I hope she will stop by my forum and then maybe she can give you some helpful hints. Where did you start watching my gardens? How is the weather by you today? Here in Wisconsin it is real mild, 50 degrees. All our snow melted and that means no insulation for the plants. Tomorrow we are going to get really cold again. YUK. I do wish you luck with your gardens. Smiles, Lark

Hi Lark!  It's so good to talk to you!  Thanks for creating this site.  I look forward to hearing what's "growing" on with you and share our garden adventures.  Happy New Year!  daisy

Lark - I first saw your gardens on Rate My Space.  Then you referred me to Garden Guides and now here.  I also saw THE magazine article.  You definately deserved to be in the magazine, but should have had a bigger write-up . . . lol  I'm waiting for you to get a television show next!  Looking forward to getting to know everyone here a little more.  It is really hard to find friends who share my love of gardening.  I have a few friends who dabble in gardening, but aren't real interested in much more than a few plants surrounding their house's foundation.

Thanks alot.  You are so funny…a t.v. show.Laugh  But I did have an idea for a title of a gardening show. TIPS, TECHNIQUES AND TOURS.  So many of us gardeners want a REAL GARDENING program.  Common gardeners on a budget.  Not expensive makeovers for people who won't take care of the garden once the t.v. crew leaves.  I don't want a program that shows botanical gardens. Kathy Renwald from Canada was my favorite show, A Gardener's Journal.  Then there was one with Ericka Glassner, A Gardeners Diary. I am so sick of makeovers.  Garden Smart is probably the only show I watch. It is on our public station.

Why don't you approach HGTV or Planet Green with the idea?  SmileIt sounds good to me!  daisy

I did contact HGTV...Answer, Thank you for your email.  I have been disappointed in the GARDEN part (Home & Garden t.v.). They do not listen to their viewers. RMS has become a joke. People are posting just anything. Like the UGLIEST...etc.  So I decided to start this website for people who really like to garden and become greener citizens. Posting pictures on my website without being rated. Just sharing our trials and errors. Helping each other get motivated and inspired. Chatting about receiving our FIRST gardening catalogs for 2011.Smile I hope you spread the word about my website and have your family and friends join in on the forums.  Smiles, Lark

I agree with you about HGTV.  They don't have shows on that are relevant to most people.  I'd love to see a show on there for those of us who actually have a budget!  I've enjoyed your posts on RMS so much.  I can only aspire to be half the gardener you are, Lark.  daisy

Thanks daisy.  I give you alot of credit for gardening and having little ones. When my children were young I did not do perennial gardening, only vegetables. I canned, pickled and froze ALOT of veggies. It wasn't until my present home that I took up flower gardening...16 years and ALOT of trial & errors. Us gardeners are always learning from each other. I took off almost all my posts on RMS.
